The dryer is not drying clothes fast enough. I have cleaned the lint trap and took the dryer apart to make sure the entire ventilation system is clear. I observe the gas ignites for approximately 10 seconds and then shuts off. I have measured continuity across the pins on the solenoid and it appeared to be correct. I found when I would short the pins on the high temperature thermostat and the gas would stay on continuously. I replaced this part and observed the gas burner acting as it had before, where it only stays on for a brief period of time. My question is how long should the burner stay on when it is operating normally? What else could be wrong with the dryer? If the solenoid is bad, I am under the impression that there will be no ignition at all, is this correct?
