A tumble dryer provides a convenient way of drying laundry, more specifically at times of the year when the weather is not on our side. An alternative is to place the hose out of a door or window rather than having an air vent installed. These models are more energy efficient than a condenser dryer and cost less to buy.
A condenser dryer is slightly more expensive, as it separates water from the damp air which can be emptied out after drying or pumped out via plumbing at the rear. Although condenser dyers are little more expensive and use a little more energy, they are preferred as the hose is not necessary.
Most machines will have a drying timer delay so you can operate it at cheaper tariff costs, such as at night. There are many ways in which you can reduce the length of cycle of your tumble dryer and therefore reduce running costs. Spin drying your washing load at the fastest speed will ensure minimal water is left and therefore will reduce drying time. Also ensure the tumble dryer is not overloaded.
