My ten year old Kenmore dryer stopping heating so clothes they don't dry. Any idea what the problem might be and the cost to repair? I called sears and it's an hour plus parts to have them come out or 9 for a 1 year warranty and repair. Would it be better to buy a new one and are the new GAS dryers really more energy efficient?

I was trying to change out the plug on my Kenmore dryer and I stripped the bolts out when screwing them in. I went to an appliance parts store and they told me that they don't sell the bolts separately. They said that I would have to replace the whole terminal block. That doesn't sound right to me.

I found some zinc machine nuts and bolts that will fit on the terminal at the hardware store. Anyway, my question is will the dryer be effected by zinc hardware?

The dryer is an electric kenmore dryer about 10 years old. Recently it has began to cut off after about 15 or 20 minutes. If you try to start it immediately after it will not come on or it will make a buzzing sound. After waiting about 15 minutes and pressing the start button it will make the same buzzing sound but it will then start to run. It also sounds louder when running than usual. I have taken it apart and cleaned out all the lent (which there was a lot of lent around the motor). I also inspected all the air ducts inside and out cleaning them and making sure they were clear. After these things were done the dryer still has the same problem. Any ideas on what it could be? Also please give me details on how to inspect and locate any parts that might need to be replaced. I am good with electronics and have a voltmeter to check the parts. Thank-You.

My dryer is broken! We recently moved and when I went to use my dryer, I turned it on for about 10 minutes and it started smelling all burnt (like electrical burnt smell). So, I turned it off and when you touched any part of the dryer it was really hot...almost too hot to touch. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? It is an older model Kenmore dryer.

My Kenmore dryer, which is about 19 years old, recently started doing something wierd. After running for about a minute it give out a loud thump from the back part of the dryer. Then it runs normally for another minute or so, then another loud thump. Any ideas? Otherwise it seems to be operating normally. Thx.
