I recently moved into a residential rental unit and I was told that the dryer will not work because the old electrical box is missing the fuse holder for the dryer. Evidently, it was removed before I moved in. The property manager said that a new electrical box with circuit breakers will need to be installed because a new fuse holder will be hard to find because the electrical box is so old. I haven't had a clothes dryer for almost 2 months and it is very inconvenient. Is there a good source for getting a replacement fuse holder and if I got one would I be able to install these items myself in the electrical box or is an electrician required? There is a visible opening in the current electrical box where I believe this part belongs. Thanks to all who can help me. My wife is less than happy about not having a dryer.

My Son has a 88 Silverado part-time 4X4, has a 5.7 with a 4 speed automatic trans.I had to tow it home because when put in the forward gears it makes a terrible noise. Sat.I put the truck in reverse to back it into the back yard, just about got it there and its making the same sound in reverse. It sounds like a bunch of ball bearings in a clothes dryer. All help appreciated. Thanks

The last few days my clothes dryer has started to squeak when it starts up. After the first few minutes the squeaking seems to stop but after it is stopped and restarted, it squeaks again. Are there any parts, places where it would help to spray some WD-40 or am I headed for bigger problems? Any suggestions appreciated.

can you put shoes in a clothes washer and clothes dryer? I have a pair of pumas that i took to india. They're part canvas, part some type of fabric. Would it screw the shoes up, and if not is there something i should do before i wash them?

I have a manufactured home in Yuma, Arizona (summer temps in the 115 - 125 range) that has a clothes dryer that vents into the space underneath. All of the places that sell dryers, and sevral books, say NOT to vent underneath. One complicating factor is that the home sits in a pit that is pretty much level with the cement pad around it. It would be very difficult to run a vent to the outside; but, if safety is a factor, I certainly will.

I guess my question has several parts. (1) Why shouldn't a dryer vent underneath? (2) Is there an easy way to vent when the vent hose would not be able to break into the air? What is the danger of venting underneath?

Thank you all in advance for the help.

I bought my clothes dryer towards the later part of 2003. It is a Frigidaire that I got from Best Buy. It was working just fine all week, and then all of a sudden yesterday, it wouldn't cut on anymore. What on earth could be wrong with it, it didn't make any out of the ordinary noise, or anything, it just stopped working.
