I actually took the back off and took the thermostats to an appliance parts place . They checked good but I was told even though they checked good they could affect the temp . I did not inquire how much to replace those parts . Maybe I should have .??

If this happens within minutes, then it’s most likely your gas valve coils. Depending on the age, there are 2 or 3 (the three are wired together). It’s probably a two coil. This problem is referred to a "thermal open". If it heats the entire cycle, then it’s an air circulation problem.

Did you clean out the dryer vent? They will plug up and cause the dryer to over heat and the high temperature safty control will shut off the heat. Being a gas dryer, maybe you should have a professional service it. Gas appliances can be very dangerous if not serviced properly.
