I work for a very large company that repairs appliances and I do trouble shooting everyday. Here’s several of the most common causes for dryers not heating properly:
1. Make sure it’s not set on the air fluff cycle.
2. Remove lint screen and check lint screen area with flash light for lint build up. If there’s any in there, vacuum it out.
3. Check dryer vent for any kinks or clogs.
4. If your dryer vent exits to the side of your home, start dryer in a cycle and go outside to check the air flow. If there’s little to no air flow, your wall vent is clogged and needs to be cleaned.
5. If this is a gas dryer, the igniter has 2 gas coils on it that could be going out.
Now if these don’t help, you can also ask the experts at the following website: http://www.managemyhome.com
If you post on that website, make sure you include the model number located on the door frame of your dryer.
