It could be your heating coil.
If you have an electric dryer:
Take off the back of the dryer. Locate the coil which looks a lot like the heater coil in an oven. There should be 2 screws holding it in place. Take the part off, go to an appliance parts place and get a new one. Screw it on the dryer, replace the back and voila, when you turn the dryer on, it will heat up.
If you have a gas dryer, I can’t help you.
Also, If you have an electric dryer and you have a load controller on your house to control energy usage, you may want to reset it to a higher level to check if that is the problem first.
Check the lint trap and the vent. Is the vent crimped in any way or filled with lint? If crimped, smashed, etc., you may have to replace it. If filled with lint, they make a tool for cleaning it out easily.
If it’s not any of those, the heating coil may be damaged, then you’ll have to call a pro to replace it.
my friend has the same problem. I asked my dad who is very handy. simpliest thing may be a fuse. if not that the element (no heat) could be the belt, but that would mean the drum is not turning, and lastly the thermostat.
I have had two different dryers with the same problem. And two different outcome. the first it was some wire had come loose. my uncle just reconnected the wire…Good as new.
The second, the vent was pinched inthe back, caused the thermostat to go bad. Replaced the thermostat, pulled the dryer further out from the wall, Good as new.
It’s the thermostat, if you got the brand and serial number you can get a replacement from the local dealer. Check online to find out where it is located. I know mine is gas and it has a pop open bottom plate in the front of the dryer just under the lint collector. You pop out one and put in the other and its done.
